Amy Cook and Miami Valley Jazz

June 26, 2007

I am just back from making a movie with Amy Cook. It was a wonderful experience, and great to make music with her again. Bobby and John were wonderful to me when I arrived from out of town, and I really appreciate them for thier musicianship and freindship.

I then went and was an Artist in Residence at the Miami Valley Jazz Camp in Centerville OH. I had 15 wonderful students, and we did some great playing and learning together. The staff there is amazing, and I enjoyed making music with them all week.

I am headed to NYC to rock with D’Haene as we get ready for our second record. Looking forward to rocking NYC and developing the new material that will be the new CD.

What People Are Saying About Sammy...

"Your enthusiasm, excellent attitude, playing and teaching insights and ability, and friendly insanity are a huge boon for our camp. I watch your students when you are around and I know they love and respect you. The quality of your work with these kids is the best I have ever seen. I expect most of them to be back, and to play much better when they do." Dr Monty Cole - Director of Jazz Studies at Mercer University
