Amy Cook and Miami Valley Jazz

June 26, 2007

I am just back from making a movie with Amy Cook. It was a wonderful experience, and great to make music with her again. Bobby and John were wonderful to me when I arrived from out of town, and I really appreciate them for thier musicianship and freindship.

I then went and was an Artist in Residence at the Miami Valley Jazz Camp in Centerville OH. I had 15 wonderful students, and we did some great playing and learning together. The staff there is amazing, and I enjoyed making music with them all week.

I am headed to NYC to rock with D’Haene as we get ready for our second record. Looking forward to rocking NYC and developing the new material that will be the new CD.

What People Are Saying About Sammy...

"Sammy did an incredible job with the students, both in his drum clinic and his coaching sessions with several of the bands here at the festival. His enthusiasm is infectious, as he clearly has the time of his life behind the drums. The MU Jazz Band had an absolutely fabulous time - and a fabulous experience - with Sammy 'driving the bus'. The band never swung harder." James Olcott - Director Southwestern Ohio High School Jazz Festival
