Played a great set of Jazz with one of my favorite Musicians last night….Matt Falker.  Also met Frank Abraham…a very solid player himself..what a joy to play music with those two.  The Friends of the Family is a wonderful organization….please check them out

CSI@CBS

Had the pleasure of going to the CBS studios and attending the CSI NY wrap party featuring the Lt Dan Band.  Danny Gottlieb was both solid as a rock, and as good a dude as there is.  The band was in fine form, and I saw the end of the World Series from a trailer on the CBS lot…ah…livin the dream folks!

Played with Rex Merriweather’s This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Big Band last night on our in residence gig in Northridge-Trombone section was particularly on it last night-sounded great.  I will be playing at the Friends of the Family charity event next week-small group Jazz with my favorite Pianist Matt Falker-can’t wait

Gabriel/road/coasters

I appeared twice this week on the Christopher Gabriel Program….always fun to see where he is gonna take it!  Did a quick run out with Devil Doll…played three solid shows…made new fans…saw old ones…success.  I also had the chance to stop at Six Flags Over Texas and ride ALL of the roller coasters there.  I have to say that SFOT had the most courteous staff of any Six Flags that I have ever been to.  The rest of the chain could learn something from that park, they are setting the standard for customer service.

Had the great pleasure of being on the Christopher Gabriel Program today.  He is a broadcast professional, it is an honor to spar with him on the air.

In a few hours I will be riding the new wind seeker at Knott’s Berry Farm for media day-lot’s of hurry up and wait-but a great chance to ride this new offering repeatedly and get a really good feel for it.

Burt The Conqueror

I am on the latest episode of Burt The Conqueror featuring California thrills.  I can be seen joking with him, and riding Superman at Magic Mountain.  Warren Sapp and Burt do some comedy in the coaster train….and you can see me in the second row enjoying it.  Got to ride the coaster many times, talk about roller coasters with Warren Sapp, and enjoy some of the other fine rides at Magic Mountain.  Yeah…..that was a good day!

I have been playing some wonderful gigs…including a return to the Devil Doll show after a 6 years away.  The band was wonderful, and she is better than ever….was an enjoyable weekend.

I am recording with long time friend and Musician Drew Schnurr this week, can’t wait to see what he has composed this time.

Tomorrow I will be a part of live TV news and Media Day for the opening of the Green Lantern roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain.  It will be fun to ride the new one without the lines and heat of SoCal in summer, can’t wait to see what it is like.

I also was a part of the house warming party at the new Zildjian West Artist Relations Center in Burbank CA.  Most of my Drumming heroes were in the same room at the same time, and I tried some exciting new cymbals….can’t wait until they make it to market!
